“Lonely Walk Over Bow Bridge”

Bow Bridge in Central Park, overlooking The Dakota Hotel, Strawberry Fields and the Great Lake

Bow Bridge, December 2004. New York City, NY

Christmas Eve, 2004 – and one of the coldest days I can remember in Manhattan. I kept the contrast subdued in this image because, quite honestly, that is exactly what the day dictated.

Overcast straight through from morning to night, in a way that surpasses “dreary”, the sky imparted a diffused sense of static gloom over the entire city…from the formerly glistening white detailing of Bow Bridge to the distant verdigris rooftop of The Dakota.
